App Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the moddoHUB web application ("moddoHUB" or the "App"), available at moddo.app. It describes what data we collect when you use the App, why we collect it, and how it is handled.
If you are visiting our store at moddo.io, please refer to our Store Privacy Policy, which governs data collected through our e-commerce platform.
Who We Are
moddoHUB is developed and operated by moddo inc., located at 18 King Street East #1400, Unit 1400, Toronto, ON, M5C 1C4, Canada. You can reach us at info@moddo.io.
What Data We Collect
When you connect a supported device through moddoHUB, we automatically collect the following limited, non-personal telemetry data:
- Device identifiers and firmware versions — product identifiers and firmware version numbers for connected devices (e.g. mouse, dongle)
- Device serial identifier — a hardware pairing identifier used to distinguish device pairs. This identifier is not linked to your personal identity in any way.
- OS and browser — your operating system (e.g. Windows 11, macOS 14) and browser name and version
- Region — your country and state/province, derived from your network connection
- Connection timestamp — the date and time of the connection event (UTC)
- Client type — whether you are using the web app or a future desktop application
- Basic usage data — general interaction data (e.g. features used, performance metrics) to help us understand how the App is used
- Email address (optional) — only if you choose to provide it when submitting a bug report through the App. This is used solely to follow up on your report and is not used for marketing purposes.
This data is collected automatically when you connect a device and click Accept in the consent prompt. No data is collected if you click Decline.
What We Do Not Collect
- Your name or any other contact information, unless voluntarily provided in a bug report
- Your IP address (we derive country and region server-side and do not store the IP itself)
- Any personally identifiable information
- Any data from your computer outside of what is listed above
Why We Collect This Data
We collect this data solely to:
- Understand which devices and firmware versions are in active use
- Monitor firmware adoption and help prioritize updates
- Understand the geographic distribution of our user base
- Improve the performance, stability, and user experience of moddoHUB and our hardware products
We do not use this data for advertising or marketing purposes.
How We Store Your Data
Telemetry data is stored securely using Cloudflare D1, a serverless database infrastructure operated by Cloudflare, Inc. Data may be stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States.
We retain telemetry data for as long as it is reasonably useful for product improvement purposes. You may request deletion of data associated with your device at any time by contacting us at info@moddo.io.
Who Has Access
Only moddo inc. personnel have access to telemetry data. We do not sell, share, or disclose this data to any third parties, except:
- Cloudflare — as our infrastructure provider for data storage. Cloudflare processes data in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
- As required by law — if we are required to disclose data to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or government request.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the telemetry data we have collected associated with your device
- Delete — request deletion of your data
- Object — object to the processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@moddo.io. Since the telemetry data we collect is not linked to your personal identity, we may ask you to provide your device serial identifier to locate your records.
European Economic Area and UK Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA or UK, our legal basis for processing your telemetry data is your consent, which you provide by clicking Accept in the moddoHUB consent prompt. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, though this will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. A list of EEA supervisory authorities is available here.
Canadian Users (PIPEDA)
If you are located in Canada, we collect your data with your consent and in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may withdraw consent or request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us at info@moddo.io.
California Users (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell your data. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@moddo.io.
Children
moddoHUB is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, please contact us at info@moddo.io and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
